Everything was delicious! Tried BOTH sangrias, yummy. Tried a shrimp pasta, I don't recall its fancier name, but it was ON POINT. So good. Will definitely go again. Beautiful ambience. And our server was kind! Not such a pleasant experience with one bartender but the rest was great.

Whenever someone comes to town this is where I take them. It's that good. The quality of food is excellent, and I always try something different. If you order a bottle of wine, there is no corkage fee and you can take what's left home.

This place was amazing. I've been wanting to go here for ages and I cant believe i didnt go sooner. The atmosphere is very hippy and cute. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out their pizza was 50% off! (Went on a Thursday) My boyfriend got the truffle pizza and it was delicious. We also got their truffle fries which is a must!! I am definitely coming here again :)

Cucina Urbana has a really interesting/inventive menu and pretty good service and good ambience. Why the lower stars? Even though everything was tasty, the food tasted a little too salty imo. The short rib parpadelle although delicious at first, was a little too oily and it almost tasted like a ragu. I was hoping for a fresh pasta type of flavor but it seemed pretty saturated/covered with the sauce. I really liked the burrata small mason jar that came with bread. We also tried the polenta on a board with ragu on top which was inventive.

A good place for happy hour but watch the short hours. Saturday is 5-6 but get there on the early side or you will not get a seat at the bar. The $7 individual margarita pizza is simple but fresh and tasty with a fluffy, light crust. The white supposedly peach sangria ia a nice complement.

......Let's just say the reviews and stars don't lie. Recommended by a friend while we were in San Diego and I am soooo glad we tried it out!!!! The food was on point. Service was excellent. Nice comfortable atmosphere and nicely decorated. Food was reasonably priced. We went on a Monday night around 830 and it was super packed on a weekday at that time so I suggest MAKE RESERVATIONS ahead of time! (We got lucky with 2 open seats at the bar) Definitely will come back if I'm ever back in SD.

One of my all time favorite places to dine in San Diego. Cucina always has a great vibe and it's always packed, so do yourself a favor and make a reservation! For appetizers, we ordered the caprese and a side of rosemary focaccia. Both were amazing and if not for trying to watch my waistline, another order of warm focaccia would have been placed. For dinner, my friend ordered the Bucatini which he said was divine. I ordered the salmon with a side of the creamiest polenta I have ever had. The wait staff always provides impeccable service, they are always knowledgeable about the preparation of meals and if you have any food allergies, they always know what meals to recommend for you.

I loooove the interior!! It's so chic!! I made a quick yelp reservation an hour before we head there. It's good how they have the yelp reservation because this place gets packed!! The food was alright. Small serving, unique menu. My no-no was the service. The server was nice, no doubt. But everything was just too slow. It took awhile for our food to get served, it was only 3 of us. Then they handed the dessert menu, and didn't come back til after 10-15 mins. Then it took another 10mins for us to get billed. But I know it was busy. So... Nevertheless, this place is a must whenever you're in SD.

I was hoping this place would live up to the hype, but unfortunately it didn't deliver. Service was excellent though, so that alone would make me try it again. For apps we got the beet salad and mushroom truffle pizza. The beet salad was decent but the mushroom pizza wasn't that great. For entrees we got the pork chop and short rib pappardelle. The pork chop was really good, just didn't care for the sides. The big let down was the short rib pappardelle. It wasn't good. The short rib was not very good quality. We finished dinner with the Nutella donuts and sorbet/gelato sampler. Both were decent. Aside from the service, the only other stand out thing from this meal was the retail priced bottles of wine, and before 6 pm, they waive the corkage fee for any bubbly bottles.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
